Outside Melbourne
The Heritage
St. John and The Henley
The centerpiece for guests is undoubtedly the opportunity to choose from not one, but two golf courses from Australia’s top 100 listing. In addition to the beauty of the natural environment surrounding the golfing challenges, guests will find the very same attention to detail and quality applies to all the other Heritage facilities.
Framed by the spectacular mountains of Australia’s Great Dividing Range, the Yarra Valley is a special part of Victoria and yet so close to Melbourne’s CBD. Home to one of Australia’s most successful wine producing regions, the valley itself boasts incomparable rural scenery.
The Clubhouse, Pro-shop, Heritage Retreat & Day Spa, Bars and Restaurants all complement the vision of Jack Nicklaus and Tony Cashmore. Adjacent to the Clubhouse is The Sebel Heritage Yarra Valley, a superbly appointed boutique hotel offering 102 deluxe rooms and suites, including a state-of-the-art convention centre and full conference facilities for up to 400 delegates.
Gisborne
Challenging par-72 18 hole golf course with views of the Macedon Ranges. Set on a 150 acre wildlife reserve, Gisborne Golf Club offers one of the best golfing experiences north west of Melbourne. Consisting of fully watered (recycled) legend couch fairways, traditional links style bunkering and superb greens, we invite social groups and green fee players to experience the golfing challenge and natural beauty the course has to offer.
Growling Frog
Recently awarded a top 60 ranking in Golf Australia’s review of Australia’s best public golf courses for its good design and high level of presentation, the Growling Frog is set to maintain this placing for many years to come.
The first golf course in Victoria designed by golfing legend and internationally renowned golf course architect Graham Marsh, the superbly crafted 18 hole Par 72, 6,185 metre layout appeals to all levels of golfers seeking a golfing experience in a true Australian environment. The course takes in 300 year old river red gums, wildlife and wetlands, and has a spike bar, restaurant, driving range and pro shop.
Hidden Valley
Hidden Valley was once the vast country estate of billionaire Robert Holmes a Court. Today it is home to a brilliantly designed 18-hole championship golf course and a luxurious Golf and Country Club. It is located just 45 minutes north of Melbourne’s CBD.
Recognised as the best course in the north of Melbourne, Hidden Valley provides challenges for all levels of golfers, while the country club offers an array of superb facilities.
Craig Parry, who helped redesign Hidden Valley’s championship course, has made this ringing endorsement: “When I visited Hidden Valley north of Melbourne, I was completely knocked out by its fabulous location with its rolling hills and modern golf and country club facilities.”
Featuring impeccably groomed Santa Anna fairways leading to undulating Bent Grass greens, the 6532 metre, par 72 course includes what is possibly Australia’s most challenging “island” green – the 18th.
