Metropolitan Melbourne

Melbourne’s famous “sand belt” hosts some renowned golfing destinations, including Metropolitan, Kingston Heath, Kingswood, Victoria Golf Club, Commonwealth and Woodlands. Many a world-famous golfer has spent time in Melbourne’s sand-belt, and the championship-style layouts are both challenging and memorable.

The Mornington Peninsula

Not too far from Melbourne is the Mornington Peninsula, home to some 18 fabulous golf courses, namely: The National — 3 courses, Moonah Links — 2 courses, Cape Schanck, The Dunes, Sorrento, Portsea, Ranfurlie at Amstel and Eagle Ridge to name a few.

The Bellarine Peninsula and west of Melbourne

On the other side of Port Phillip Bay we have Sanctuary Lakes, Thirteenth Beach — 2 courses, Barwon Heads and further down the beautiful Great Ocean Road to Warrnambool and Port Fairy.

Along the Mighty Murray

To the north we have the “Mighty Murray” courses with Murray Downs at Swan Hill, Rich River at Moama — 2 courses, Tocumwal, Yarrawonga — 3 courses, Cobram Barooga — 2 courses, Corowa  and Thurgoona. There’s also Shepparton, less than an hour to the south, which also offers great golf.

Macedon Ranges to the Yarra Valley

Other courses well worth a visit just outside of Melbourne are The Heritage, Gisborne, Growling Frog and Hidden Valley.

As well, we can provide golf tours to Horsham in Western Victoria (approximately 300km and 3.5 hours drive from Melbourne).

Horsham Golf Course has long had a reputation as one of the best golf courses in Victoria and Australia. It has regularly been listed in the top handful of courses in country Victoria and it has been rated 27 out of the Australia’s Top 100 Public Access Golf Courses in 2007. It has been voted the PGA best course in Victoria for the last four years and the clubhouse has been recently updated and features brand new facilities.
